ITINERARY
| Day 01 |

Cusco - Huayllabamba
We will pick you up from your hotel and transfer to Piscacucho Km 82, where the trek begins. After meeting our porters you will cross the Urubamba River by bridge. Continuing on our way along the winding path, between the sloping banks of the Urubamba River, we will visit Llaqtapata archaeological site and experience a stunning view of the Vilcanota mountain ranges and Mount Veronica 5,713 m.a.s.l (18,745 ft.). Our route takes us through the narrow Cusichaca valley, with slopes that show the clear imprint of an ancient culture and its agriculture practices. Them we will arrive to our first campsite Huayllabamba 2,750 m.a.s.l (9,025 ft.)

| Day 02 |

Huayllabamba –Pacaymayu
We climb through native Qeuña (polylepis) forest to the highest campsite on the Inca Trail at Pacaymayu. Today is one of the most demanding days of the trek as we ascend to the first pass of the route at Warmiwañuska 4,198 m.a.s.l (13,776ft). From here we will be rewarded with fine views east towards the peaks of Huayanay and the Vilcabamba range to the west, before descending to our campsite at Pacaymayu 3600 m.a.s.l (11,811ft).

| Day 03 |

Pacaymayu –Wiñay Wayna
Today we cross the second pass at Runkurakay 3,920 m.a.s.l (12,860 ft), and follow a finely-paved and well-preserved Inca pathway to the restored archaeological site of Sayacmarka, after a walk we are in Phuyupatamarca, that is also an important archeological site. After a spectacular descent from cloud forest to high jungle we camp at Wiñay Wayna.

| Day 04 |

Wiñay Wayna - Machu Picchu - Cusco
Today, begin early, after a two hour walk through a lush cloud forest along the Inka Trail, we reach Machu Picchu 2,377 m.a.s.l (7,800 ft.) entering through Intipunku, the “Sungate”. The day is dedicated to explore this astounding and mysterious Inka settlement, our guide will explain us about the history of Machu Picchu; buffet lunch. The afternoon train takes you back to Cusco, a representative will wait for you at Poroy train station to transfer you to your hotel.

Inka Trail Trip Notes
Inka Trail regulations limit the number of people allowed on the Inka Trail to 500 people per day (including tourist, guides, porters, cooks). Permits are given with anticipation; Qasana Tours require your full name, date of birth, nationality and passport number, minimum 3-4 months before your travel date, you will carry only a small daypack with your camera, water bottle, and rain gear. Porters carry additional clothing and the camping equipment. Park authorities may occasionally designate different campsites than those indicated in the itinerary.
