This is a rugged trek which leads you through a diversity of climates from Andean farming valleys, descending through a hot and arid canyon environment to reach the archaeological complex of Choquequirao in a lush cloud forest, Choquequirao was the stronghold of Manco Inca; legend said, that the Inca rebelled against the Spaniards and taking all the gold and treasure, he set off into the jungle to found a new nation.
