Cusco has become the highlight of most people traveling to Peru and South America, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire and its surroundings has a unique combination of history and authenticity where past and present collide in an uneasy but intriguing mix. For the Incas, Qosqo which is the original quechua name of Cusco, meant “Navel of the World” , and it was a holy city, nowadays Cusco is a fascinating mix of Inca and Spanish architecture; colonial churches, convents and Inca Palaces remains are found at every corner in the down town of the city.
